On Sunday, December 16 at the Chateau Le Jardin Banquet Hall the YRSA welcomed all clubs in celebrating the York Region Soccer Association's 30th Anniversary for a Holiday Season dinner and dance. Many clubs were in attendance, here is a brief overview of who was present at the event: the President of OSA – Ron Smale along with the rest of the OSA Board of Directors, President of YRSA – Lucille Abate, the YRSA Board of Directors and staff.
All the York Region Soccer Clubs were present: UMSC, Vaughan SC, Richmond Hill SC, AYSC, Woodbridge SC, Oak Ridges SC, Glen Shields FC, Markham SC, Newmarket SC, KNSC, East Gwillimbury, King City SC, WSSC, Thornhill SC, and Lake Simcoe SC.
Also in attendance was local Regional Councillor Michael Di Biase, our very own Vaughan Soccer Club President – Danny Pellegrini, Pat De Thomasis, Nick Raimundo, Sal Zappula, Tony Bartolomeo, Sandro Dipede, Mario Fabiano, Sandra Colica, and Tony De Palma.
The YRSA presented some awards for 2012. The last award of the evening was presented to the YRSA ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD, awarded for the first time in YRSA history. ...and this award was presented to our very own Sandra Colica and Vaughan Soccer Club!
Sandra was presented with this award for her outstanding efforts, hard work and dedication to the VSC club. This award was was designated by the City of Vaughan, leagues and OSA.
'She has shown all levels of her professionalism, organizational skills and mannerism to an outstanding level and therefore, this award was to thank her for her service and running of the Vaughan Soccer Club for 10 years', said Ron Smale [President of the OSA].
'This was truly a prestige award that I never expected to receive but will honour and continue to serve the Vaughan Soccer Club and community – Thank You!!!', acknowledged a very surprised and happy Sandra!
Congratulations from everyone here at Vaughan Soccer Club to Sandra for her accomplishments and dedication to the club, keep up the great work, we are very proud of you!!!
